Job Title: Front-End Web Developer

An opportunity has arisen for a Front-End Developer to join our established Team. The successful applicant will have an enthusiastic attitude for their work with a minimum of 2 years commercial experience in a development environment of creating CSS/Javascript based websites.

After many years of sustained growth, both organically and through acquisitions, Namesco is entering a new phase of expansion following its acquisition by the Dada Group. The company has been developing its product range into the online advertising market and is now looking to expand this team in order to improve existing systems and extend its product range further, providing the opportunity for many exciting projects.

The role requires high competency with XHTML, CSS, Javascript (and the Prototype Framework) and working to applicable W3C standards. Experience of working in an Agile software development environment using version/source control and a knowledge of PHP would also be desirable.

Job Description

The role predominantly involves the production and integration of CSS (2.1, however knowledge of 3.0 is also required) based templates produced from a design concept that will be provided by the teams Graphic Designers.

It is important that the design integrity is upheld in detail and that close communication is kept with the designers, in order to maintain this.

Responsible for testing and ensuring that the website is multi browser compatible, optimised for SEO and conforms to both web and accessibility standards.

The candidate will need to work closely with the team's developers and other team members split across multiple locations to help integrate the solutions.

An understanding of Javascript and the Prototype framework will be required for the production of Javascript within the site. Knowledge of PHP will be advantageous as templates are generated with this technology.

Working Knowledge of Adobe applications (Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Photoshop) will be required however the ability to use text based HTML/CSS editors for these tasks is also a requirement.

In addition to the website work, the candidate will be responsible for other web design based activities such as producing HTML emails, promotional standalone landing pages and more, again based on designs provided.

It is essential the candidate employs excellent communication skills as they will be working in collaboration with not only developers and staff in the UK, but also from Italy and our offices in other countries as they will be working on an International project.

In the performance of these duties, they will be expected to endeavour to promote and maintain the interests and reputations of the Company at all times, and maintain good relationships with working colleagues.
