Namesco launches Microsoft Windows hosting platform in response to customer demand

Integration with existing network delivers cost benefits as well as flexibility to customers

16 March, 2006: Namesco, one of the UK's leading providers of hosting and broadband solutions, has today announced the availability of its first Microsoft Windows-based hosting platform. The move will open up a world of sophisticated yet easy-to-use web features for the hosting company's 160,000 UK customers.

Already famous for its reliability, thanks to an unbroken run of three years with no network downtime, Namesco's latest development means its customers can combine this robust environment with the addition of next-generation Microsoft technology to their websites, portals and other online operations.

The high degree of integration between different Microsoft technologies means that Namesco's customers will now have access to a wide range of features and functions with the assurance that they will blend together seamlessly, something that would not be possible using a variety of technologies. From the ability to build websites and portals quickly and easily, to sharing information online and even deploying calendars on websites, the use of Microsoft technology is set to open up a new range of advantages for Namesco customers.

The new Microsoft-based platform has been built into Namesco's existing network, taking full advantage of its resilience. This has also resulted in substantial benefits to Namesco's customers as the new platform is under the watchful eye of the highly experienced Namesco network management team; access to the many years experience of this team means the new platform is far more robust than most new networks.

Namesco's CEO, Kevin Savage, commented: "This is truly a proud moment in Namesco's history. We have set the standard for other providers to follow. Our new platform will allow us to offer users functionality, performance and reliability that will simply not be available to them with any other hosting provider in the world."

The new platform has been built using the latest technologies from Microsoft Windows Server system, including ASP .Net 2.0, SharePoint services, and Visual Web Developer 2005 Express, as well as the next-generation capabilities of SQL Server 2005.

Micheline Germanous, Microsoft EMEA Hosting Director, said: "Congratulations to Namesco for this exciting and important development. By harnessing the power of Microsoft technology and the way our products integrate, and then combining that with its own impressive track record, Namesco has truly opened up a world of potential for its customers."
